Values of Indian families
In present Indian scenario, the need of consciousness towards the values of family and social life.
As for as Indian values of family and social life is concerned, it is based on among the major religions like Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Budda, Sikhs, Atheist, etc. The Religions and Castes are the two major obstacles to breed a good Indian citizen.
The families of all religions tell the truth "love towards fellow human beings". First let us Love our creator (God), then we love our self and love others as we love our self. Some time back, Bihar Chief Minister Manjhi said to the India Today Group, "Only 2-5% men go on outings with their wives. Others go out on dates with other men's wives." That shows the redefined culture of modern India. Being an Indian we are drowning economically and culturally and it is time to come back to track.
The Indian family has been a dominant institution in the life of the individual and in the life of the community. For the Hindu family, extended family and kinship ties are of utmost importance. Hinduism has been called the "oldest religion" in the world, and some practitioners refer to it as Sanātana Dharma, "the eternal law" or the "eternal way" beyond human origins. It prescribes the "eternal" duties, such as honesty, mercy, purity, self-restraint, among others. But in ancient Hindu mythology, Viyasar is having two wives namely Ambiga and Ambaliga and they are wives for his brother. Mahabharatha is an ethics about blood shed battles. Our fore fathers, Lords and Indian Kings are having numerous wives. Lord Murugan is having two wives. Lord Gokulakrishnan is having numerous wives. Hence, the male dominant society & lack of morality are our Indian culture for a long period. Dr.Ambedkar tells that the Bhagavath Geetha is based on "Varna(caste)" differences.
One of the most striking features of Muslim society is the importance attached to the family. The family unit is regarded as the cornerstone of a healthy and balanced society. Be a role model for your children. Do not smoke, do not drink alcohol. Do not pay or receive reba,, be modest. Your family will follow you. In many senses, marriage is considered the union of 2 families, and the parents usually arrange the marriage. But the undervalues on women in Muslims are not able to tolerate, since talak(divorce) is very common and the men are dominants than women.
The Buddha's message as a religious way of life:" Keeping away from all evil deeds, cultivation of life by doing good deeds and purification of mine from mental impurities ". For our purposes, religion may be defined in a very broad sense as a body of moral and philosophical teachings and the acceptance with confidence of such teachings. But now we can find Sri Lankan buddist are responsible for more human killings.
The bible has a wealth of solutions to many of our questions about what to do every day. Your kids are looking to you as their parent to set the example. If you want your children to respect you, then you need to set the direction for your family. Do you want a more loving and devoted wife? Do you want children who are respectful, honest, loving, giving, and confident & prepared for every day life? If you answered yes, then, fathers, lead your family as God has directed in the bible. But so many marriages are ending in divorces and many children learn their values from television, movies, and music instead of from their parents. The second major obstacles "Caste" plays a major role in majority of Christian community in India.
The family is the strong and noble Sikh core institution which has been promoted since the time of Guru Nanak by following the four commandments a)Do not dishonor the creator's intention by cutting the hair. b)Do not harm the body with tobacco or other intoxicants. c)Do not eat sacrificial meat.d)Do not commit adultery. Sikhs in Punjab constitute about 63% of the population. About 30% of the population is classified as Dalits (mainly SC, there are no ST in Punjab.) About 80% of the Dalits live in rural areas. The share of Sikhs in rural areas is 73%, implying that Punjab villages are predominantly Sikh and Dalit. (All statistics from Harish Puri's article linked in "Related Articles".) The Dalits also have one of the lowest percentage of land holdings merely 2.34%. Such partiality shows an aversion on every religion as for as India is concerned.
STUDY REVEALS: Nowadays, most of the parents are both employed and they don't have enough time to spend time with their children. The family and social impact gives depression and stress to both men and women. Hence, the divorcers & diseases are increasing day by day. The morality lacks in most of the people and the encyclopedia for morality depends upon person to person. Corrupted persons are encouraged by their wives and pass on the same to their children. So our children are not able to access which is right and wrong. Mother is the first teacher and a model of righteous living. If a Govt. Employee is getting bribe from others, the money & materials are going to their family means, his/her other family members are also responsible and it corrupts/damages their whole family.
The laziness occupies the full spaces among the villagers nowadays. They are enjoying so much of Government subsidies in so many ways. Free items were presented often by the Government. The self help group are extending sufficient loan to the women. Hence, they are become lazy nowadays. The real estate people and corporate people are corrupting the villagers and tempt them by showing huge money on their hand.
Conclusion & remedy : In India the Religious tolerance is coming down and it is based on the racism exist long back among our community. Casteless community to be set-up by these following major corrections by Government. Education is a very powerful tool for promoting cross-cultural understanding and reducing bias incidents. Teachers have a unique opportunity to provide Indian students with a positive learning environment. Hence, first and foremost is 100% literacy should me monitored.
"The school records to be registered as "Religion column: INDIAN and "Caste column: "Upper Class or Backward Class or Lower Class" only. Income tax payers are to consider as "Upper Class". Lawyers, Doctors, Engineers, Politicians, Auditors, Contractors, Real Estate owners, All Business people, Cine actors, Pon Brokers and other professional persons should come under Income tax. Hence, the responsibility ceases on the parents and children.
Some how or other, the vandalism or brutalism in the form of religious fights or inter caste fights will be eradicated if all are one in India. There should not be any caste and creed, Upper/Backward or Lower. It should be brought up from the childhood as an Indian. Hence, it starts from family only.
Secular India will be possible only by the following methods:
- A person may give birth as a Hindu and naming "Harshan". Suppose, if he wants to worship Christ, then they should not be converted into Christianity and not necessary to change his name. Also he will be called as "Indian" as for as Govt. record is concerned. Instead the mind change is enough as for as conversion is concerned and so on to every Religion.
- By classified a person namely "The Upper Class, Middle Class and Lower Class", based on the economic stability of the family upto higher Education. Not for employment purpose. Employment should be purely based on merit.
- Once a family comes into Upper Class, all other benefits given by the Govt. should be withdrawn. Hence, healthy competition will be prevailing among citizens of India and the children will enter into competition.
- Local Language, Hindi and English to be compulsory educated in Schools and colleges and based on that everyone to be placed employment anywhere else in the country.
- A person who is having more than a wife is not eligible for a Political leader and not able to contest on elections. Also a person is having more than two children are also not eligible. The same should be applicable for Govt. servants.
- Land ceiling act to be immediately implemented for every citizen based on the locality.
- Value education subject to be added in school & college syllabuses.
What are your family values? Are you giving your children every opportunity to learn about healthy relationships between a man and a woman? Children are the mimic of their parents and they learn mostly from their parents.
The following points are generic that apply for both boys and girls:
Give them quality time: More than anything else, your children need time from you. You need to be interacting. Quality time involves face time.
Lead by example: You can't expect your children to love their neighbor if you don't love your neighbor.
Reassure them they are loved: Tell them and show them that they are loved as often as you can
Consistently hold them accountable: They need and want consistency.
Teach them respect: Teach your children to show respect to adults.
Share in meaningful conversation: Give them the time even when it's inconvenient.
Love your spouse: Your children need to see that their parents are in love.
Enemy for corruption: Your family should know that it is a sin against the society.
